Hello followers!
Joe and I have some updates to share with you some related to Japan and some just related to our lives. Some of you may know that Joe and I graduated from the University of Illinois recently! Joe graduated with a B.S in Mechanical Engineering and I graduated with a B.S in Elementary Education. It was definitely an exciting event! Both families are very proud.
Next, Joe and I are currently in Sacramento California visiting the Isosaki family. This will be the first time I've seen some of them, and the first time we've seen a lot of them in about 2 years! We are here taking care of Grandma Isosaki with Joe's dad, Tony. She is currently suffering from cancerous tumors on her liver. Please pray for comfort and healing for her and the family members that are taking care of her. She is a believer and has high spirits as of right now.
Lastly, a Japan update.
Joe has continued to maintain communications with pastors Kinoshita of shingu church and Fukui of the Rengo churches. We have been working on our Japanese, worship leading, and sermon prep. God has continued to make our path straight concerning finances. Two weeks ago we had only received $540.00 of the $6,400.00 necessary to go on the trip. We continued to pray and after meeting with a pastor Ricky of Stone Creek Church we chose to write graduation announcements that would direct those gifts towards the trip.
Then God proceeded to bless the trip! My Johnson and Johnson relocation bonus hit three months early giving us the resources necessary to buy plane tickets to Japan and to California to see my grandma. We have received many more gifts since the letters have gone out which has been offsetting the cost of the Japan plan tickets and helping us save money for food and host family gifts for our time in Japan. We pray that God continues to continues to bless us so that we can be a blessing to the Japanese people and we will blog more consistently as we get get closer and closer to Japan!
