"The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken." Psalm 34: 17-20
First off, I wanted to thank all of you for your prayers. Here's a quick update on how I have been progressing physically.
In the past 48 hours, God has provided me with an American physical therapist who has been helping me recover remotely. This man loves the Lord, and has offered his services freely to accelerate my recovery. I've had 4 sessions with him thus far and I'm making great progress. The mobility of my back is increasing, and I can now stand and walk for short periods of time unsupported with mild discomfort. The goal is to stabilize my slipped disk so that I will be in good enough shape to weather a 6 hour train ride to Osaka, 30 hours of flights, and 6 hour drive home. Please continue to keep me in prayers. I want to encourage you that I have been experiencing deliverance from this physical affliction much faster than typical for this kind of back injury.
While I've been focused on my recovery, Lily, Preston, and Isaiah have carried the full load of ministry. Isaiah and Preston did English drills with a junior high school basketball team, while lily cooked tacos for 50 people. God provided them with margin by pushing the taco lunch an hour later due to a miss communication. This provided them with extra margin to prepare for the largest Shingu outreach to date. During the lunch Isaiah shared his testimony with 40 athletes, and 10 adults.
We then concluded the day with an Englishh Cafe with 4 adults and 4 kids. Preston led the kids table, and Isaiah led the adults.
Thank you for all the prayers over these ministries, God made a way where there was none.
Today we begin our 4 day kids English bible camp. There will be 21 children in attendance, making this the largest camp in our 5 years of partnership with this church.
Pray for excellence in our ministry today. Preston will be directing the camp. Isaiah will be leading icebreakers, games, and supporting English curriculum. Lily will be leading cooking and art activities. We will all lead the walking with Jesus activity from TamaYuriShiki camp. I will lead worship and a bible skit that Felicia has prepared.
Please pray for the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom, so that children are fully engaged in each activity. Pray for hearts to be receptive to the gospel messages which will be shared the next four days.
