Purpose and Skills
In this section Joe and I will lay out our mission's trip proposal that we sent to Fukui and Kinoshita sensei. Second, we will give you a chance to read our personal testimonies. Lastly, we will share with you some of our relevant skill's that we are bringing to our mission's field in hopes that you too will see how amazing God's hand has been in the timing and preparation for this trip.
Japan Mission Trip Proposal
Our team would like to use our professional skills and spiritual gifts to make a lasting impact on the Japanese people. God has given us a passion for engaging Japanese culture, and we look forward to equipping the future leaders of the Japanese Church. We are planning to visit Japan on Saturday 7/28 until Tuesday 8/14 for two weeks.
During this time we could assist multiple churches in the Tokyo and Shingu areas with:
· Worship leading
· Community outreach
· English café ministry
· Sports camps
· Youth ministry
We look forward to building lasting relationships, and we hope to be a part of what God’s doing in Japan for the coming years.

Joe’s Relevant Skills
· Leadership – ability to coach others concerning worship, youth ministry, and community engagement
· Musical knowledge- I can play bass, guitar, sing, understand sound engineering, and worship team logistics. 8 years of experience.
· Sports – I can use basketball, football, dodgeball, volleyball, etc. as a means of engaging young people. This makes church more approachable and accessible to families.
· Small group leading - I have led and been a part of many different types of bible studies.
· Communication/teamwork – intermediate level of Japanese, and I’m very good at bringing people together around a common vision/goal/mission.
· Impact - I can bring a new idea into reality, and enable others to keep it going when I depart.
Felicia’s Relevant Skills
· Teaching- ability to develop an English as a Second Language curriculum to meet the needs of various learners including young children to adults. Can include TOFEL preparation. Can also include managing summer camps for children that include games, activities and messages related to the gospel, English or just having fun in general.
· Small group leading - I have led and been a part of many different types of bible studies including young married couples, high school, middle school, young adult/college, as well as project or sermon specific groups (Financial Peace, Truth Project).
· Communication- I am a very good listener when it comes to language. I have an ability to understand people very well who do not have English as their first language. I am also very eager to learn Japanese from the people I spend time with in Japan.
· Culture/Diversity- Joe and I attend a church called People's Church in Cincinnati Ohio. It is ethnically and culturally diverse. This is an asset for Joe and myself because we want to continually to engage people and cultures that are different from our own. We want to teach and we want to learn from anyone who crosses our path. We are open-minded individuals who are eager to experience new cultures.

Preston’s Relevant Skills
• Spiritual Gift of Prophecy - Simply put, this gift means that I have an easier time than most with interpreting how God communicates with me and "tugs" me in the right direction; I can also, to a degree, help others to understand His methods of communication. In addition, I can help others to interpret passages of scripture or explain the point/meaning that I perceive behind a portion of scripture.
• Leadership/Organization/Management - I am fairly skilled at seeing the big picture in a project. This makes it easy to efficiently visualize and dictate what needs to be done as well as who would be the best to do it, all while making sure that I can appropriately deal with any problems that arise.
• Enthusiasm - I get very easily excited (or pumped up) about a wide variety of things, which may seem like just a goofy personality trait at first, but ends up being very helpful. My enthusiasm for what I'm doing and what I'm talking about can be contagious, getting others excited as well (which is great when I'm getting excited about Jesus!) This also means that I get excited about the interests of others, which shows them my genuine care for who they are and what they like.
•Great With Kids - I love hanging out with kids and helping them to grow and learn, and my excitable, energetic, "youthful" personality helps me to both associate with children and have fun with them! In ministry, this means that I can both have fun with kids and get them to listen to/respect me.
