Felicia here! ~ Thanks for following us on our blog as we get ready to go to Japan! Joe and I had the amazing privilege of attending an authentic Japanese dinner states-side today. All thanks to Tomo and Tomoko our new friends. This dinner included ample amounts of nori(seaweed), raw tuna, uni (raw sea urchin), ebi (boiled shrimp), raw shrimp, salmon, ika (raw squid), sushi rice and fermented soy beans. It was an amazing experience that we will never forget. This was my first time eating many of these foods and I'm pleased to say that I enjoyed it very much. Tomo and Tomoko invited us into their home and gave us some very genuine advice about how to say different expressions in Japanese, when to avoid using the trains and what gifts to bring with us for our host families. God is definitely preparing us for our trip to Japan and we greatly appreciate all of the help and support we've been getting from our families and friends so far. Only 91 more days to go! |
