Today God has revealed more of his vision for 2020. While the core team stayed at C-on Kinshuko Camp, Fukui Sensei invited me (Joe) to drive to Akita Prefecture to visit a small church in Yokote. During our drive he told me that The Beautiful Feet Project has been asked to lead 3 multi-church kid's camps with students from Iwate, Miyagi, and Akita prefectures (states) at C-on Kinshuko next year.
That would equate to roughly 100+ children over 2 weeks, across three back to back camps (elementary, junior high, and high school). Based on the scale of this, I would want at least a team of 5, preferable 8+ people who are passionate about ministering to the Japanese. I would desire people with a myriad of spiritual giftings such as ESL, art, sports, bible games, worship, and preaching.
We spent time tonight time with Taka, the director of the camp facility. Over the last 16 years he has facilitated bible camps at Kinshuko with his family. This has led many children and their families to a new life in Christ. Youth camp ministry is his passion, and he has dedicated his life it. Next year he would like to create a new English bible camp in partnership with The Beautiful Feet Project to connect the local community with the churches who would regularly attend.
The Beautiful Feet Project team and our prayer partners have remained in Christ during this trip, and his words have remained in us. Thus we will now ask together for God to provide gifted and passionate new workers to lead these multi-church bible camps at Kinshuko in 2020.
It would be for god's glory that children from Iwate, Akita, and Miyagi would come together and hear the gospel, bearing much fruit.
We pray that this new team will be form by December 2019 so Taka can plan for the summer camp dates. We also pray for God to move financially so the team can purchase tickets in December 2019. This is due to the summer Olympics being in Japan 2020 which overlaps with children's summer vacation schedule and our ministry.
"Ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."
